St. Paul Saints News Release
WINNIPEG, MB - The St. Paul Saints had everything going for them to end their three game slide. Mark Hamburger was on the mound and they jumped out to a 3-0 lead after an inning and a half. Unfortunately, Mother Nature didn't cooperate. Heavy rains fell cancelling Wednesday night's game at Shaw Park with the Winnipeg Goldeyes. The game will be picked up from that point, with the Goldeyes batting in the bottom of the second and the Saints up 3-0, the next time the Saints come to Winnipeg, Monday, August 15. The game will resume at 5:30 p.m. and will be completed as a nine inning ballgame. The regularly scheduled game will follow 30 minutes after and will be scheduled for seven innings. All stats from Wednesday's game will become official at that point and will count on the date of July 20th because the game had already started.
The Saints will take Thursday off and return to action on Friday night at CHS Field at 7:05 p.m. against the Laredo Lemurs. The Saints send RHP John Straka (7-3, 5.50) to the mound. It is Xcel Energy Friday Night Fireworks featuring the music of Total Request Live. The game can be seen on the Saints Cable Network, cable access channels in the Twin Cities, and heard on Club 1220 KLBB.
