
Five RedHawks Named to All-Star Team

FARGO, ND - Five members of the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks have been selected to the North Team for the 2016 American Association All-Star Game on August 2 at CHS Field in St. Paul, MN. The RedHawks will be represented in the starting line-up by OF Keury De La Cruz and 3B Josh Mazzola, while OF Kes Carter was named as a reserve and LHP Tyler Alexander and RHP Colton Reavis were named to the pitching staff.
De La Cruz is bating a team-leading .349 with 23 doubles, eight home runs, 46 RBIs and 48 runs scored in 57 games. He leads the American Association in at bats (261), hits (91), total bases (138) and doubles, is second in runs scored, third in batting average and tied for third in RBI.
Mazzola is batting .296 with 12 doubles, 15 home runs, 57 RBIs and 39 runs scored in 57 games. He ranks first in the American Association in RBIs, second in home runs, third in total bases (126) and tied for fifth in slugging percentage (.541). On defense, Mazzola has committed just five errors at third base and posted a .963 fielding percentage.
Carter is batting .306 with 14 doubles, two triples, six home runs, 32 RBIs and 25 runs scored in 54 games for Fargo-Moorhead this season. Carter has recorded a .993 fielding percentage and is fourth in the American Association with 136 outfield putouts in 54 games as the RedHawks centerfielder.
Alexander is 7-3 with a 3.24 ERA in 12 games (11 starts) for the RedHawks this season. In 75.0 innings pitched, he has allowed 27 runs (23 earned) on 69 hits. Alexander has struck out 76 batters, walked 23 and is holding opponents to a .249 batting average against him. He is second in the American Association in strikeouts and tied for second in victories.
Reavis is 1-3 with a 2.61 ERA and four saves in 23 appearances this season out of the Fargo-Moorhead bullpen. He has pitched 31.0 innings and allowed 13 runs (nine earned) on 26 hits. Reavis has struck out 41 batters and walked 13.
