Tucson Padres News Release

The Sacramento River Cats hit three consecutive home runs in the 12th inning and defeated the Tucson Padres 7-4 Saturday at Kino Stadium. The loss was the first for the Padres in extra innings this season.

Sacramento went ahead in the top of the second on Andy Parrino's sacrifice fly to left. The River Cats held the lead until the fifth when Gregorio Petit's two-run single to left put the Padres in front 2-1. Tucson added two more runs in the sixth on Jonathan Galvez's RBI double and a River Cats throwing error.

Scott Moore knotted the score up at 4-4 in the eighth with a three-run home run onto the berm past right-center field. The game remained tied until Michael Choice, Moore and Jeremy Barfield homered in three straight at-bats in the 12th to take the lead. The three consecutive home runs fell one shy of the Pacific Coast League record.

River Cats reliever Dan Otero earned his first win of the season, while Brian Gordon recorded the save. Brad Brach was charged with the loss after surrendering the lead in the 12th. Tucson starter Brandon Kloess allowed one run and had six strikeouts in 5.2 innings. The Padres compiled 11 hits in the game lead by Yasmani Grandal's three-hit performance.
