Sabres Recall Goaltender Drew Macintyre

(Rochester, NY)... Buffalo Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier announced today that the Buffalo Sabres have recalled goaltender Drew MacIntyrefrom the Rochester Americans. In a related move, the Amerkshave also recalled goaltender Jeff Jakaitis from the ECHL's Gwinnett Gladiators.

MacIntyre, 28, earns his first promotion of the season after posting a 3-4-1 record with a 2.74 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage in eight games with the Amerks. The veteran netminder has started the last two games for Rochester, including a season-high 43-save effort against Grand Rapids on Saturday to help the Amerks to their third straight win.

Jakaitis, 28, joins the Amerks after starting the season with the Gwinnett Gladiators, where he boasts a 5-2-0 record with one shutout and 224 saves. A native of Rochester, Minnesota, Jakaitis currently ranks sixth and fourth among ECHL goaltenders with a 2.27 goals-against average and a .933 save percentage, respectively. His five wins also rank sixth among league backstops.

Rochester continues its season-long five-game homestand on Wednesday, November 16 as the Syracuse Crunch make their way to The Blue Cross Arena. The 7:05 p.m. matchup will be the fourth of 10 scheduled meetings this season between the longtime intrastate rivals and will be broadcast live on 107.3 FM and 1280 AM, Rochester's Sports Talk.
