Prince Albert Raiders News Release
Prince Albert, SK - Rylan Parenteau made 24 saves as the Prince Albert Raiders shutout the Edmonton Oil Kings 4-0 on Wednesday night at the Art Hauser Centre.
A tight defensive game through the majority of the first 40 minutes, a second period tally by Matteo Gennaro seemed to spark the Raiders' offence heading into the final frame. In the third, Prince Albert lit the lamp while even strength, shorthanded, and on the power play to round out the scoring.
Gennaro, Drew Warkentine, Reid Gardiner and Simon Stransky were the goal getters for the Raiders. The goal by Warkentine was the Prince Albert native's first in the WHL. Jesse Lees and Austin Glover each picked up two assists.
The clean sheet by Parenteau was his second shutout of the season. He finished the night with 24 saves. At the other end, Patrick Dea stopped 29 of 33 shots for Edmonton.
The Raiders outshot the Oil Kings 33-24. Prince Albert went 1-for-3 on the power play, while Edmonton was 0-for-4.
The Raiders' record improves to 11-2-0-1 with their seventh-straight win, while the Oil Kings drop to 3-8-3-0.
