
Ryan Russell Re-Assigned To Cincinnati Cyclones

HAMILTON, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs announced today that the Montreal Canadiens have re-assigned forward Ryan Russell to the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL.
Russell, 20, has appeared in 23 games in his rookie campaign with Hamilton this season, notching two goals and an assist with a minus-6 rating and four penalty minutes. The 5-foot-10, 171-pound centreman made his AHL debut on October 7th, 2007 in Rochester versus the Americans, and tallied his first-career goal and point on December 27th, 2007 against the Manitoba Moose.
In 263-career Western Hockey League games from 2003-to-2007 with the Kootenay Ice, the native of Caroline, Alberta registered 98 goals, 118 assists, 216 points and 115 penalty minutes.
The Canadiens acquired Russell in a trade with the New York Rangers on May 31st, 2007 in exchange for a 2007 seventh round draft pick. Russell was originally selected by the Rangers in the 7th round, 211th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
The defending Calder Cup Champion Hamilton Bulldogs return to action tomorrow night (Friday, February 29th) at 7:30 p.m. when they host the Iowa Stars at Copps Coliseum on Carey Price bobblehead night. The first 7,500 fans in attendance at the game will receive this commemorative souvenir.
