
Marlies Recall Leveille, Sign Jeff Miles and Matt Grennier

Mike Penny, General Manager of the Toronto Marlies, announced Thursday that the club has recalled forward Michel Leveille from the Columbia Inferno of the ECHL. In addition, the Marlies have signed forward Jeff Miles to a professional try-out contract and centre Matt Grennier to an amateur try-out contract. In keeping with club policy, terms of the contracts were not disclosed.
Leveille, 27, appeared in four games with the Inferno since being loaned to Columbia, registering five points (one goal, four assists) and four penalty minutes. With the Marlies he posted eight points (six goals, two assists) and a plus-two rating in 33 games this season with the Marlies.
Miles, 26, has notched 57 points (22 goals, 25 assists) in 56 games this season with the Columbia Inferno. The 6'0, 190-pound right wing leads the Inferno in both goals and assists this season. Miles has played in 46 career games in the AHL, registering eight points (six goals, two assists) and 12 penalty minutes with the Norfolk Admirals, Manchester Monarchs, Milwaukee Admirals, Bridgeport Sound Tigers and Hershey Bears.
Grennier, 24, spent the past five seasons playing for the Wilfrid Laurier University Golden Hawks, registering 117 points (41 goals, 76 assists) in 122 regular season games. During the 2007-08 season, the Dryden, Ontario native posted 12 goals and 24 assists in 28 contests for the Golden Hawks. He was named the 2003-04 Team Rookie of the Year at Wilfrid Laurier. Prior to playing for the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks, the 6'1, 198-pound centre played 241 games in the Ontario Hockey League with the Brampton Battalion, Barrie Colts and Kitchener Rangers from 1999-2003. During that span, Grennier registered 62 points (29 goals, 33 assists) and 140 penalty minutes.
The Marlies travel to Syracuse on Friday night to take on the Crunch - AHL affiliate of the Columbus Blue Jackets - with puck drop scheduled for 7:30 p.m. The Marlies return to Ricoh Coliseum for a pair of games next weekend.
