Peoria Rivermen News Release
Peoria, Ill. - Peoria Rivermen President/CEO Bart Rogers announced today that Petersen Health Care will present Country Star Craig Morgan, a 2006 Academy of Country Music New Male Vocalist of Year nominee, LIVE in a post-game concert on Friday, March 21, following the team's game against the Lake Erie Monsters that night at 7:00 PM.
"Craig Morgan is a rising country music star that fans will truly love, and we can't thank Mark Petersen, Petersen Health Care and his entire staff enough," Rogers said. "With the popularity of country music and Petersen's support, this was a tremendous opportunity to expose a new genre of fans to Rivermen hockey and entertain those of our fans who already follow country music.
"We're ecstatic to help bring in one of the most popular and up-and-coming country stars performing today," Mark Petersen, CEO of Petersen Health Care, said. "Our employees and staff look forward to a fantastic evening, and we invite all Rivermen fans to join us for a great night of hockey and music."
Morgan is currently touring in support of his fourth album Little Bit of Life (2006), which includes hit songs International Harvester and the title track. Previous hits for Morgan, who is signed to the independent label Broken Bow Records, include former No. 1 That's What I Love About Sunday (which spent five weeks at No. 1 and ended 2005 as country radio's most played song of the year) and Redneck Yacht Club, both of which came from his My Kind of Livin' album (2005).
On Friday, February 29, U.S. Cellular presents "Lilly" from Disney's Hannah Montana show. "Lilly" (Emily Osment) will appear and sign autographs from 6-8:30 PM with media co-partnership from Comcast, 97.3 RiverCountry and the Journal Star's E-Z Pay program. It's also Advance Auto Parts Night for the first 1,000 fans, as the team will face off against the Grand Rapids Griffins at 7:00 PM.
