Moose Release Jackson from PTO

The Manitoba Moose, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, announced they have released defenceman Jim Jackson from his pro tryout contract. He will now return to the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL.

Jackson, 27, appeared in seven games with the Moose after signing his pro tryout contract on Feb. 06/08. The Marquette, MI native has played in 26 games so far this season with the Gladiators where he's scored 10 goals and four assists for 14 points and 28 penalty minutes. Last year, Jackson appeared in one game with the Grand Rapids Griffins. He has also played in 225 career ECHL games in four seasons - all with Gwinnett. In that time, he's scored 52 goals and 62 assists for 114 points and 184 penalty minutes.
