SYRACUSE (NY) - The Syracuse Chiefs today announced that ticket sales for the team's May 18, 2008 game to be played in Cooperstown, NY will go on sale this Saturday, March 1. The relocation of the regular season game against the Rochester Red Wings is a part of the 125th anniversary celebration of the International League.

"Not only is this an amazing opportunity for our team, but for our fans as well," said Chiefs General Manager John Simone. "It isn't everyday that you get the opportunity to participate in a game of historical magnitude at such a sacred location."

Game tickets will range from $15 for grandstand seating to $10 for reserved seats. In addition to individual game tickets, ticket packages are available that include discounted admission to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. Another package that includes bus transportation, from Syracuse, will also be available. All individual tickets and packages will be available through the Chiefs ticket office.

The Chiefs will also offer an exclusive post game reception package that will feature an appearance by a Hall of Fame player. The reception will be held in the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum and will be attended by members of both the Syracuse Chiefs and Rochester Red Wings. Reception tickets are available on a first come, first served basis.

"This is not simply a baseball game," said International League President Randy Mobley. "This is an event where individuals and families have the chance to spend the day immersed in baseball history."

The Syracuse Chiefs open the 2008 season, at Alliance Bank Stadium, on Thursday, April 3 against the Louisville Bats.
