Chicago Wolves News Release

Chicago Wolves defenseman Brian Sipotz is bringing new meaning to the term "blueliner." The 6-foot-7-inch hockey player dyed his hair bright blue this week, following through on a promise to fans to tint his locks a shade of their choice.

Presented with options of pink, blue and green, Wolves fans had four weeks to donate funds to charity in support of their favorite color, with blue ultimately garnering the most cash. Sipotz raised more than $2,000 for charities including the Interfaith Council for the Homeless, the Dan Snyder Memorial Fund and the City of Chicago's Animal Care and Control.

Said Sipotz: "It's a crazy thing to do, but as long as it's for charity I'm alright with it. When people see me they'll ask why I did it and that will give me an opportunity to talk about the charities and the Wolves, so its all for a good reason."
