Owen Sound Attack News Release

The Owen Sound Attack and the Oshawa Generals have made a trade. In that trade, Owen Sound picked up Oshawa's 15th overall pick in the 2009 CHL Import Draft and drafted Russian Right Winger, Roman Berdnikov.             Also going the Oshawa Generals way is a 3rd Round Pick in 2010 (London's) and the 27th overall pick in the 2009 CHL Import Draft.              Attack General Manager Dale DeGray describes Berdnikov as a "highly skilled, offensive right winger with a right handed shot." DeGray also believes this fills a void on the right side that he had been looking to fill before the beginning of the season.              The 5'11, 180lb winger scored 2 goals and added 2 assists at the 2008 World U-17 Hockey Challenge for the Russian team. Berdnikov, born on May 18th, 1992 according to the Canadian Hockey League website and is eligible for the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
