Rapid City Rush News Release

Versus the Cutthroats - The Rapid City Rush and Denver Cutthroats have squared off a total of six times this season, with Rapid City holding a 3-1-2 record thus far. The sides will meet a total of sixteen times this season. Currently, Damian Surma (1G, 5A), leads the Rush with six points in six games against the rival Cutthroats. Three the Natural Way - In Saturday's 4-1 win over the Arizona Sundogs, Rush veteran forward Damian Surma earned the first "˜natural' hat trick in team history. Rapid City's leading scorer converted on a penalty shot and buried a powerplay goal in the second period before netting a second man-advantage goal to start the third. The feat marks the second hat trick of the season and 12th in franchise history. Exactly one week before, Jarrett Konkle picked up the first hat trick of the season for the Rush. Starting to Roll - The Rush continue to climb up the CHL's standings and the team is starting to find its stride. In three games last week, the squad picked up five points, losing in a shootout Wednesday against the Wichita Thunder before earning a weekend sweep of the Arizona Sundogs.
