Put me down for a snowman: The eight Blaze goals scored in Saturday's 8-3 win at Tulsa is a new single-game franchise high, eclipsing the seven goals reached twice this season (7-0 win at Missouri Nov. 9, 7-2 win at home vs. Quad City Nov. 25). The record was a team effort as eight different players scored the goals and a total of 11 players earned points.

Standing pat: Although the Blaze have dropped to fifth, they are only five points out of first place with a 12-8-1 record good for 25 points. Jon Booras is second in the CHL in scoring with 30 points (8 goals, 22 assists). Jesse Dudas has moved into the scoring lead among CHL defensemen with 22 points (11g, 11a).

Tyler Gron is tied for the league scoring lead among rookies with 21 points and he leads all rookies with 10 goals.

Sebastien Trudeau is tied for fourth among rookies with 14 points (8g, 6a) while Jared Walker is tied for sixth in rookie scoring with 12 points (2g, 10a).

Lamp lighting: Expect to see the red goal light flash frequently at a Blaze game. The Blaze lead the CHL in goals per game (4.05) but are ninth in goals against (3.48).

That's more than seven combined goals per Blaze game. The Blaze top the league in goals (85), assists (151) and points (236).

Blaze anatomy: Both Blaze goaltenders who began the season are now back from injured reserve. Pier-Olivier Pelletier returned to the lineup on Saturday for the first time since Nov. 10 and earned a 19-save win at Tulsa. Dan Dunn entered the IR a week later and missed six games, and although he was knocked out of the game in his first contest back last Saturday by an illegal hit behind the net by Rapid City's Justin Sawyer, he did not miss another contest.

The Blaze also placed forward Charlie Townsend on the 30-day IR and forward Nicklas Lindberg on 7-day IR, and also placed forward Tyler Gron on team suspension.

Junior Blaze update: The Junior Blaze resume play after a week off by hosting their next six games, beginning with contests against Tennyson Chevrolet this Friday, Dec. 14 at 3 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 16 at 11 a.m.

Admission is included with the ticket to the Blaze game that day.
