Rapid City Rush News Release

RUSH STORYLINES & UPCOMING OPPONENTS:

* Versus the Gems; Playoff Rematch - The Rush and Gems have met only five times (all during 2010-11) in their brief history. The Rush won both regular season meetings and completed a 3-0 sweep of the Gems in the Turner Conference Opening Round Playoffs. Les Reaney leads the Rush with seven points (4g, 3a) and a +4 rating.

* Revamped Blueline - During the 2011 offseason, the Rush brought back eight total players from the 2011-12 roster. However, the only defenseman to re-enter the fold is alternate captain Riley Weselowski, allowing for a much-needed overhaul of the Rush d-corps. Recently, the Rush added veteran leadership with the addition of Blake Forsyth who is entering his 8th pro season. Also entering the fray is 6-4, 208-pound Michael Couch who not only brings size, but championship experience, having been a member of last year's championship run for the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs. Wade Poplawski (Colgate '11) and Carl Hudson (Canisius '10) bring youth to the back end after completing impressive four-year careers in the college ranks. Finally, former arch-nemesis Joe Grimaldi joins Rapid City after spending his 2010-11 campaign with the rival Colorado Eagles.

Upcoming Schedule:

* Friday, October 28th vs. Dayton Gems

* Saturday, October 29th vs. Dayton Gems

* Friday, November 4th @ Fort Wayne
