Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees News Release
The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees will look for their first wins of the young season with a pair of games this week against the Laredo Bucks at the Laredo Energy Arena. The trip to Laredo will be the first regular season match-up for new Bees head coach Terry Ruskowski since his nine seasons with the Bucks.

The Laredo Bucks split a series with the Arizona Sundogs to start the season with a 1-1 record. The Bucks were victorious in the coaching debut of Serge Dube. The Bucks won game one 2-1 before falling in game two 4-3.

Friday vs. Missouri Mavericks, 2-1 Loss
The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (0-1-0) fell to the Missouri Mavericks (1-0-0) on opening night at the State Farm Arena. The two teams traded early first period goals but a late third period goal by Kris Hogg proved to be the difference maker. Zac Pearson netted the Bees lone strike.
Saturday vs. Missouri Mavericks, 5-1 Loss
The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (0-2-0) fell to the Missouri Mavericks (2-0-0) by a 5-1 score on Saturday night. Aaron Lee got the lone Killer Bees goal only 16 seconds into the game. Missouri scored five unanswered to end the game.
BEES NEED TO KNOW
. The Friday night game was the Bees first in franchise history without involvement from Sean Gillam, either as a player or coach.
. The Bees debuted new jerseys this weekend which include the Bees new seal on the front with teal being eliminated as a color.
. Terry Ruskowski was the fourth man to ever step behind the home bench at the State Farm Arena for a Killer Bees game.
. David Marshall's Killer Bees debut was delayed one game after being called-up to San Antonio.
