Arizona Sundogs News Release
PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs split their season-opening games against Laredo this past weekend and now prepare for three games against the visiting Missouri Mavericks this week at Tim's Toyota Center.

Friday vs. Laredo Bucks, 2-1 Loss
The goaltenders highlighted opening night as Arizona's Scott Reid made 35 stops and Laredo's Torrie Jung turned aside 34. The Bucks scored a pair of power play goals in the second period, then held defensively in the third period's closing minutes when the Sundogs had a power play and pulled their goals for a 6-on-4 advantage, but couldn't force overtime.
Saturday vs. Laredo Bucks, 4-3 Win
JP Chabot recorded a pair of goals, including the game-tying score, and Daymen Rycroft tallied the game-winner as the Sundogs scored twice in the third period to come back for the win. Levente Szuper turned aside 30 shots for the win in his first start of the season. Todd Griffith recorded a goal and two assists for Laredo.

The Missouri Mavericks won both of their two games to start the season at Rio Grande Valley over last weekend for a 2-0-0 starts. Missouri made waves this offseason signing former CHL MVP Sebastien Thinel and 80-point scorer Ed McGrane. This is Missouri's first trip west to Tim's Toyota Center. Arizona visited the Mavericks for two games back 2009-10 and won each of those contests.

Saturday's victory was the 150th in the head coaching career of Marco Pietroniro - all with the Sundogs. Tyler Butler is three games away from 500 in his career. Adam Smith is two games away from 400 in his career. Daymen Rycroft's goal on Saturday gives him 397 points in his career.
