Saskatoon, SK - The Saskatchewan Rush are pleased to announce they have resigned goaltender Eric Penney to a 2-year contract.

"When we acquired Eric mid-season last year, he did what's expected of a goaltender in the NLL," says general manager Derek Keenan. "It gave us a chance to win on most nights and we are happy to have him back in the Rush net!"

Penney was drafted in the fifth round by Vancouver in 2013 and tallied up 11 wins with the Stealth/Warriors franchise. The 1993-born goaltender compiled a .762 save-percentage, including a career-best .789 save-percentage in 2020, before he moved to join the Philadelphia Wings.

Last February, the Rush traded their 23rd overall pick in the 2022 NLL Entry Draft to acquire Penney and a second-round pick in the 2023 NLL Entry Draft.

Penney joined team green and black and played his first game in net against the Colorado Mammoth on February 26, 2020 where he got his first win under his belt. The 6-foot 225-pound net minder suited up between the pipes for six games, earning three wins and finishing the season with a .774 save-percentage.
