Rapid City Rush News Release

(Rapid City, SD) - On Monday, July 26th, the Rush Foundation along with city officials broke ground on the future site of Parkview Park in Rapid City. Head coach Joe Ferras, general manager Tim Hill and owner Scott Mueller all represented the Rush in an event that also featured Rapid City Mayor Alan Hanks.

"The Rush Foundation is excited to be a part of establishing a new playground facility for the community," said Jodi Anderson, President of the Rush Foundation. "It is important to us to be able to give back to the community that has supported the Rush organization so much. We are now looking forward to selecting a project to fund using the proceeds we raise during next year's season. One option we are looking at is rehabilitating some city baseball facilities that have deteriorated over time and are not able to be used by the community. We wouldn't be here without the community support and feel it is very important to be able to provide improvements that benefit the entire community."

Back on June 9th, the Rapid City Rush Foundation presented a check to the City of Rapid City Parks Department for $20,000 as part of their "Rehab Rapid City Parks" initiative. The Rapid City Rush Foundation raffled tickets during the 2009-2010 season for a new Ford Rush Waldoch Conversion Van as well as auctioned team specialty jerseys to raise funds for the project.
