Eagles, Jackalopes to Square-Off Twice in Preseason

WINDSOR, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles and Odessa Jackalopes of the Central Hockey League announced today that the two teams will be playing a pair of preseason contests in Northern Colorado in preparation for the 2010-11 season.

The Eagles and Jackalopes will play in an official CHL preseason game on Saturday, Oct. 9 at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, Colo. And two nights prior to that -- on Thursday, Oct. 7 -- the teams will take part in another game at the NoCo Ice Center in Windsor, Colo. Both games will start at 7:05 MST. The game on Oct. 7 will take the place of the Eagles' annual split-squad, "Blue-Gold Game."

"We're extremely excited to host the Odessa Jackalopes not once, but twice, in Northern Colorado this preseason," said Chris Stewart, the Eagles' head coach, president & general manager. "The Jackalopes are one of the CHL's top franchises, and they will offer great competition as we evaluate our team in preparation for the 2010-11 season."

Tickets for both games will cost $10 (plus applicable fees), with the proceeds from the game played at NoCo benefiting youth hockey in Northern Colorado. Tickets for each game will go on sale to the general public on Saturday, Sept. 25 at 10 a.m. (ticket sales information detailed below).

"We're grateful for the chance to host a game between the Eagles and Jackalopes, and it'll be great to have two CHL teams play on our ice," said Dan Van Arsdall, general manager of NoCo Ice Center. "This new format should be exciting for local hockey fans who will be helping raise money to benefit youth hockey in the area at the same time."

Eagles season ticket holders who opted to purchase the preseason game ticket on their season invoice (good only for the Oct. 9 game at the BEC) will receive the ticket in their season ticket book. Tickets for the Oct. 7 game can be purchased by calling the NoCo Ice Center at (970) 206-4423 or by visiting the arena.

Tickets for all Eagles home games played at the Budweiser Events Center -- including the Oct. 9 preseason game -- will go on sale Saturday, Sept. 25 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased by visiting the BEC Box Office, calling 1-877-544-TIXX (8499) or online at www.ComcastTix.com.

The puck drops on the 2010-11 regular season on Friday, Oct. 15. when the Eagles will open their eighth season at home against the Arizona Sundogs.
