Tulsa Oilers News Release
Two of the lynchpins from the Tulsa Oilers last championship team in 1993 will return for the third annual American Airlines Oilers alumni game on Saturday August 28th at 7 p.m. at the Oilers Ice Center (64th and Mingo).
Doug Lawrence, the Oilers all time leading scorer and penalty minute leader will be playing his third alumni game, and Mike Berger, who has had his number 44 retired will also return this year after missing last year's game.
"I always love coming back to Tulsa, and seeing a lot of the old fans and the new fans," Berger said. "You get a bunch of generations of hockey players out there, how could you not have a good time. It shows what type of an organization Tulsa is that so many of the guys love getting together."
Lawrence was named the MVP of the inaugural alumni game in 2008 joked he wants to reclaim the title from last year's winner Luc Beausoleil.
"It's the one time a year I get the chance to get out there and skate and really have a lot of fun," Lawrence, who also had his number 9 retired last season, said.
Tickets for the alumni game will be $10 for all general admission seats. Oiler season ticket holders will be admitted early to the Oilers Ice Center, for preferred choice of seats.
The Oilers had the second highest point total increase in the CHL this season under head coach Bruce Ramsay, who was in his first season with the Oilers. They will have 33 home games at the BOK Center in the 2010-11 season, starting on Friday October 15th against the Wichita Thunder
Season tickets for 2010-11 with plans for as low as $26 a month are now available by calling the Oilers office at 918-632-PUCK (7825).
