Rapid City Rush News Release
(RAPID CITY, SD) - The Rapid City Rush, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Arizona Coyotes, announced today that two-way skater Ryan Misiak has been acquired from the Utah Grizzlies in exchange for future considerations. In a separate transaction, forward Scott Brannon has elected to take an opportunity overseas.
Misiak, a 24 year-old that plays both forward and defense, comes to the Rush in the midst of his rookie season. In 41 games this year with the Utah Grizzlies, the 5'11", 187-pound forward has scored twice, while helping out 11 times for 13 points. His ECHL career began last season with the Reading Royals as an amateur, playing in 4 games in Pennsylvania. Prior to playing professionally, the native of Shelby Township, Michigan attended Mercyhurst University, where he notched 119 points in 156 games and skated with current Rush center Dan O'Donoghue.
Brannon leaves the Rush after playing his entire career to-date in the Black Hills. Over the last four seasons, the 6'0", 195-pound native of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia played in 199 games with the Rush, scoring 32 goals with 41 assists for 73 points. Before his professional days began, the 26 year-old forward played Canadian college hockey with St. Francis Xavier University, and junior hockey in the QMJHL with the Cape Breton Screamin' Eagles and the Moncton Wildcats, the latter of which he captained to a 2010 QMJHL Championship.
