QUACK TRACKS

Stop Sign

The Mallards' loss last Saturday night in Fort Wayne came on the heels of back-to-back wins over Rapid City. Last Saturday's defeat also halted the Mallards' four-game regulation unbeaten streak (2-0-2).

Sweep

By defeating the Rush last Wednesday and again last Friday, the Mallards emphatically halted a six-game winless streak.

On the Road

Last Saturday night's loss kicked off a four game road trip for the Mallards. The Mallards are 0-4-2 in their last six away games. They last won on the road when they defeated the IceMen 2-1 in Evansville on January 16.

Home Sweet Home

By winning consecutive home games last week the Mallards improved to 4-1-0 in their last five home tilts.

Red Light District

The Mallards against Rapid City last Wednesday and Friday scored four goals in consecutive games for the first time since their fourth and fifth outings of the season. They scored five times in wins over Tulsa October 24 and Wichita October 25.

Between the Pipes

Steve Michalek was recalled to the American Hockey League's Iowa Wild for the third time in just over two weeks after make 37 saves on the way to his second shutout of the season last Wednesday against Rapid City. Brody Hoffman has appeared in eight of the Mallards' last 10 games.

Top Trio

A member of the line of Brady Brassart, Matt Carey and Kevin Henderson has scored in each of the Mallards' last six games. Carey has eight points (three goals and five assists) over those six contests while Brassart is on a six-game point-scoring streak (2-4-6) and Henderson is in the midst of a five-game point-scoring streak (1-4-5).

Jelly

Guillaume Gelinas enjoyed his first career two-goal game in last Friday's win over Rapid City and totaled four points (two goals and two assists) in the Mallards' two-game sweep of the Rush last week.

Iron Mike

Among defensemen, Mike Monfredo is tied for sixth in the ECHL in assists (21) and points (26).

Special Teams

The Mallards went 8-for-8 on the penalty kill last week and have now killed off 14 of their opponents' last 15 power plays and 28 of their foes' last 30 man advantages. They rank third in the ECHL penalty killing (86.8 percent). The Mallards are tied for sixteenth on the power play (16.4 percent).

Head to Head

The Mallards have split two meetings with the Oilers this season. The Mallards are 13-12-0 against the Oilers all-time and have gone 4-5-0 in Tulsa. The two clubs will wrap up their five-game season series April 1 at the iWireless Center.

Ins and Outs

Jared Knight was recalled by Iowa (AHL) last Saturday after being assigned to the Mallards last Thursday...Tanner Eberle (upper body) returned to the Mallard lineup last Friday after missing seven games before then missing last Saturday's game...Jake Reed was signed as an emergency backup goaltender last Friday... Steve Michalek was recalled by Iowa (AHL) last Thursday...Ryan Tesink was reassigned by St. Louis (NHL) to the Alaska Aces last Wednesday...Olivier Archambault (upper body) and have missed the Mallards' last nine games...Zach Pochiro (upper body), who has missed the Mallards' last 17 games, is on 21-day injured reserve.

The Mallards have once again partnered with Metro to provide transit service between Augustana College and downtown Moline during all Friday home games. As part of Metro's unlimited ride program, Augustana riders can use their Augustana ID as their fare.

R.I.A. Federal Credit Union River Bend Foodbank Challenge

Mallards fans are asked to lend a hand during the month-long challenge by bringing a non-perishable food item to any of the team's February home games. Donations can be made at the R.I.A. table located on the main concourse behind sections 108 and 109. For each item donated R.I.A. will enter the donor's name in a drawing for an iPad mini.

Fox Sports Radio 1230 is the radio home of Mallards Hockey Presented by Genesis Power Sports Performance. Mallards games broadcast on AM 1230 also stream live online at www.wfxn.net. A limited number of Mallards games- including this Saturday night's game against Tulsa- will not air on Fox Sports Radio 1230 due to conflicts with University of Illinois basketball and football and Green Bay Packer football. ECHL-TV pay-per-view video webcasts and free audio webcasts of all Mallards games are also available at myqcmallards.net.

Single game tickets are also available at the iWireless Center box office, at Ticketmaster outlets, through www.ticketmaster.com or through Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free. The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the second period.

Groups of at least ten receive savings off the walk-up price and a host of group benefits.
