Indy Fuel News Release
INDIANAPOLIS - The Indy Fuel announced today that the team has traded forward Josh Brittain to the Tulsa Oilers in exchange for forward Brandon Wong and defenseman Trevor Campbell.
Wong, 29, is a veteran of 287 ECHL games plus stints in the American Hockey League, Sweden and Denmark. He posted six goals and 13 points with Tulsa this season in 33 games. A native of Victoria, British Columbia, Wong attended Quinnipiac University for four years before turning pro after his senior season in 2009-10 with the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins. He also spent time in the AHL with the Connecticut Whale.
The 25-year-old Campbell just wrapped up his own college career last year at University of Alaska-Fairbanks before turning pro by playing 11 contests with the Bakersfield Condors where he picked up two assists. The 5-10, 192 lb. rearguard has yet to appear in a game this season for the Oilers after sustaining an injury in training camp.
"With Wong, we are bringing in a guy who is more of an offensive playmaker," said Fuel head coach Scott Hillman. "We are familiar with him from having played against us in Evansville last season several times. Campbell brings us a young defenseman to help out our defensive corps and add depth at a time when we've had to dress only five D on a few recent occasions."
The Fuel will now play six straight away from home starting this Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Missouri against the Mavericks. The Morellis Cleaners pre-game show starts 15 minutes before puck drop on CBS Sports 1430.
Single-game tickets are now on sale at Ticketmaster or at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum box office, while a variety of different ticket plans and group specials are available by calling (317) 925-FUEL or visiting IndyFuelHockey.com. Don't miss out on anything from the Fuel in 2015-16, follow the team on Twitter and Instagram (@IndyFuel) and don't forget to 'Like' the Fuel on Facebook.
