RUBBERDUCKS RALLY EARLY FOR SERIES OPENER: Three first-inning runs proved enough for Akron, beating Binghamton 3-2 on Thursday night at Canal Park. Mickey Jannis went six scoreless innings following the first, but the Rumble Ponies offense was limited to nothing until their eighth-inning tally. Akron utilized a five-pitcher effort in their league-leading 52nd win of the season.

BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Scott Copeland make his 10th Eastern League start of the season after a recent outing with Las Vegas (AAA). The 30-year-old tossed six innings of three-run baseball against Fresno in an 8-1 51's loss. The righty has earned a decision in six straight Eastern League starts (4-2) and will face Akron for the first time in his nine-year pro career.

QUACKING THE WHIP: Akron has defeated Binghamton in six of their seven meetings this season including a three game sweep at NYSEG Stadium on April 9 - 11.

TEBOW'S HITTING STREAK: Tim Tebow's fifth-inning infield single was his only knock on Thursday, but extended his hitting streak to a season-high eight games. The 30-year-old outfielder is batting .370 in July and .329 in the last 30 days.

NO ONE WITH MORA: John Mora hit his first triple in exactly one month in Thursday's loss. He now leads the Eastern League with seven three-baggers.

THE MICK MAN: RHP Mickey Jannis made his 60th career Double-A start with Binghamton on Thursday. He's tied with Rainy Lara (2014-2016) for the third-most in franchise history.

NO WALKING ALLOWED: Neither the Rumble Ponies nor RubberDucks earned a walk in Thursday's game. Binghamton's two pitchers tossed eight combined innings with no free passes, while Akron's staff used a five-man effort to throw nine walk-less frames.

GREAT SCOTT: RHP Scott Copeland is the last Rumble Ponies pitcher not named Justin Dunn or Mickey Jannis to toss at least seven innings in a start. Over the last 12 games, Jannis and Dunn have accomplished this feat four times. Copeland tossed seven frames in a Binghamton win against Trenton on June 25. Rumble Ponies starting pitchers have average 5.1 innings per start this season.

M&M: Levi Michael earned his team-leading 24th multi-hit game of the season on Thursday, finishing 2-for-4 with a double. Only John Mora (22 multi-hit games) has more two-hit games than Michael on the Ponies active roster (21 to 20).

UP NEXT: Binghamton and Akron continue their four-game series on Saturday evening. RHP Ricky Knapp gets the ball for the Rumble Ponies against RubberDucks LHP Sean Brady. First pitch at Canal Park is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
