TODAY: The Binghamton Rumble Ponies look to take three out of four from the Akron RubberDucks. The Ponies are in the middle of eight straight games away from home.

LAST TIME OUT: The Rumble Ponies hit a season-high six home runs in their 8-2 win over the RubberDucks Saturday night. Patrick Mazeika hit two homers to raise his total to 12 for the season. The Ponies hit three-consecutive homers in the fifth, which extended their lead to 6-0. In his Double-A debut, lefty Kevin Smith recorded the win after he went 5.2 innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out one.

BACK-TO-BACK-TO-BACK: The Rumble Ponies hit three consecutive home runs for the first time in eight years when Jason Krizan, Patrick Mazeika, and David Thompson went back-to-back-to-back in the fifth inning Saturday night. The last time Binghamton hit three straight roundtrippers was July 5, 2011.

SEASON-HIGH IN HOMERS: The Rumble Ponies hit a season-high six home runs Saturday night. It's the most home runs they hit in one game this season, topping the previous mark of four.

THOMPSON'S BIG SERIES: David Thompson has hit a home run in each of the three games so far this series. He has five RBI this series and now has five home runs on the season.

MAZEIKA'S NINE-GAME HIT STREAK: With his two homers Saturday night, Patrick Mazeika extended his hit streak to nine games. He is 11-31 (.355) in that stretch. His 51 RBI rank third in the Eastern League, and his 12 HRs are tied for the team lead with Barrett Barnes. Earlier this season, the all-star recorded a 15-game hit streak (4/27-5/16).

BRODEY'S FIRST HOME RUN WITH PONIES: Quinn Brodey smacked his first home run in a Rumble Ponies uniform with a blast to center field in the fifth inning Saturday night. It was part of a four-homer inning for the Ponies. Brodey also hit five HR in 53 games with St. Lucie (A+) this season.

PONIES BEAT RUBBERDUCKS AT OWN GAME: The Rumble Ponies have hit nine home runs over the first three games of the series. Meanwhile the RubberDucks, who lead the EL with 82 homers, have not hit any. The Ponies jumped three spots in the category following their six HRs Saturday night and now have 64 on the year, ninth in the EL.

RACKING UP HITS: Binghamton outhit Akron 14-3 Saturday night. It's the fifth-most hits the Ponies have tallied in a game this season. This series, the Rumble Ponies have tallied twice as many hits as the RubberDucks (34-17).

COMING UP: Binghamton heads to Reading for four games. Righty Tommy Wilson faces LHP JoJo Romero in the series opener Monday night.
