Rui Earns League Honors

DES MOINES - Iowa Barnstormers kicker Gabriel Rui was named the Indoor Football League's Special Teams Player of the Week in Week 14.

Rui (5'11", 190, Kansas) earned IFL Special Teams Player of the Week honors after an outstanding Week 14 performance against the Quad City Steamwheelers on the Barnstormers home turf. In the team's 80-41 victory over the Steamwheelers, Rui was solely responsible for 20 total points. He finished the night 9/10 on PATs, with one successful field goal, and an incredible four deuces contributing 25% of the team's points to the board.

The Indoor Football League awarded the Iowa Barnstormers very own quarterback Daniel Smith with Offensive Player of the Week while Byron Edwards of the Sioux Falls Storm earned Defensive Player of the Week.

Rui and the Iowa Barnstormers will travel to Quad City in week 15 to once again face the Steamwheelers. The game is scheduled for a 7:05PM kickoff on Saturday, June 24 at Vibrant Arena in Moline, IL. Fans can tune in on YouTube.
