
Rueger promoted to Tampa

CHARLESTON, SC - The New York Yankees have announced the promotion of left-handed relief pitcher Bryan Rueger to the Tampa Yankees of the Florida State League and the activation of relief pitcher David Seccombe from the disabled list.
The 23-year-old Rueger was a 20th round selection by the Yankees in the 2005 first-year player draft out of Southern Illinois University. With Charleston this season, Rueger had a 2-0 record and a 1.78 ERA. In 26 appearances Rueger pitched a total of 30.1 innings allowing eight runs (six earned) while walking five and recording 18 strikeouts.
Seccombe was placed on the disabled list on June 27 with lower back stiffness. A product of the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, Seccombe was signed as a non-drafted free agent last June. In 2006 with the RiverDogs, Seccombe is 4-1 with one save and a 4.18 ERA. In 20 appearances he has pitched a total of 32.1 innings allowing 17 runs (15 earned) while walking 15 and fanning 25 batters.
