Akron RubberDucks News Release
The Reading Fightin' Phils jumped out to a two-run, first-inning lead on first baseman Brock Stassi's home run and went on to hold the lead the entire way to split the four-game series with a 7-2 win over the Akron RubberDucks on Sunday afternoon at Canal Park.
Turning Point
Stassi's two-run home run in the first inning got Reading off to a fast start. They would add single runs in the second and third innings to jump out to a 4-0 lead.
Mound Presence
Adam Plutko (4-3) picked up the loss, allowing a season high four runs on five hits, three walks, a home run, a wild pitch, and two strike outs over four innings of work. Jacob Lee followed with three scoreless innings, and Louis Head allowed two runs over his two innings pitched, which included four walks.
Duck Tales
Destin Hood led the team with three hits, including a pair of doubles, to raise his season average to .293. Yandy Diaz, who entered the game leading the Eastern League in walk and on-base percentage added a pair of walks to raise his season total to 55. Jordan Smith had a pair of hits, including a double, and scored a run. Jeremy Lucas also had two hits.
Notes
Despite the loss, Akron won the season series over Reading, 10-4...Akron heads into the All-Star Break with a 47-45 record, tied for third place in the Eastern League's Western Division, 3.5 games behind division leader Bowie...Akron went just 2-for-16 with runners in scoring position and left 14 runners on base...Time of game was: 2:56 with 1:13 pre-game rain delay ...Attendance: 4,156.

The RubberDucks are off for the Eastern League's All-Star Break until Thursday, July 16 when they travel to the Erie SeaWolves to start a four-game series.
