Kamloops, BC - The Victoria Royals earned a 2-1 victory over the Kamloops Blazers, to extend their winning streak to six games, as goaltender Griffen Outhouse was named the first star with 26 saves.

Notes:

Dante's Inferno: Royals' forward Dante Hannoun scored in tonight's game and now has four points (2g-2a) in three games against the Blazers this season. In his WHL career, Hannoun has recorded 17 goals and nine assists in 32 regular season games versus Kamloops.

Gone Streaking: Tonight, Victoria forwards Dante Hannoun and Kaid Oliver each extended their point scoring streaks to five games. During that span Hannoun has tallied seven points (4g-3a), while Oliver has registered six points (4g-2a).

Man-Advantage: For the fifth consecutive game the Royals have scored on the powerplay. In their past five games, Victoria has registered a mark of 9/28=32.14% with the man-advantage.

In the Crease: Kamloops' goaltender Dylan Garand made his first career WHL start in tonight's game. Garand, a native of Victoria, BC, made his first WHL appearance, in relief, on October 3rd against the Portland Winterhawks. The 6-0, 170 lb netminder played his minor hockey at Juan De Fuca.

The Show: Former Royals' Captain, and Kamloops, BC product, Joe Hicketts was in the Detroit Red Wings' line-up for their regular season opener on Thursday vs. the Columbus Blue Jackets. Hicketts, who is in his third year of professional hockey, played in his sixth career NHL game.

Up Next: Victoria returns home on Saturday, October 13th and Sunday, October 14th with a two-game set versus the Vancouver Giants. Saturday's puck drop is at 7:05 p.m., while Sunday is scheduled for a 3:05 p.m. start.
