PRINCE GEORGE, BC-The Prince George Cougars came up just short on Saturday, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Vancouver Giants at the CN Centre. Joel Lakusta scored twice, and Isaiah DiLaura stopped 25 of 28 shots in his season debut. Vancouver overcame a 1-0 first period deficit to win their fourth-straight. The Cougars have now dropped their last three.

Game Notes

Power-Play Strikes: The Cougars snapped an 0-19 on the power-play slump when Joel Lakusta scored in the third period. Heading into Saturday's games, the Cougars were just 1-27 on the man-advantage in their first six-games.

Short-Staffed:Prince George played two-thirds of the game with just 10 forwards. They originally dressed 11 forwards and seven defencemen, but Josh Maser was assessed a five-minute major penalty just 11-seconds into the second period.

Up Next:The Cougars are off until next Friday, October 12th, when they start a three-game Alberta road trip in Medicine Hat. The Cougars also make stops in Lethbridge (October 13th) and in Cranbrook (October 14th) to face the Kootenay ICE.
