Kamloops, BC - The Victoria Royals tallied two goals in each of the second and third periods to overcome a 1-0 first period deficit to defeat the BC Division leading Kamloops Blazers 4-1 on Monday night. Tarun Fizer led the way offensively with two goals and an assist, while goaltender Shane Farkas stopped 31 of 32 shots for the visitors.

Penalty Kill Success: The Royals have been stifling on the penalty kill since returning from the holiday break. Victoria has killed off all 12 opponent powerplays in their three post-Christmas contests.
2019 Recap: Tonight's win was the Royals final game of 2019. Victoria concluded the calendar year with a regular season record of 34-29-3-2. The team was led offensively by forward Kaid Oliver, who tallied 44 points (19g-25a) in 49 games for the year.
Gary's Got His Groove Back: Overage forward, Gary Haden, has collected at least a point in 11 of his last 13 games. Victoria will host the CHL's seventh ranked team in the Portland Winterhawks on Friday, January 10th and Saturday, January 11th. The Tri-City Americans then come to town for a pair of games on Tuesday, January 14th and Wednesday, January 15th.
