Victoria Royals News Release
Victoria, B.C. - The Victoria Royals are hoping to extend their win streak this week when they play their last four games before the Christmas break.
Starting Tuesday night in Kelowna against the Rockets, Victoria will play four games in five nights to wrap up the first half of the season. Wednesday night, the team will play the Kamloops Blazers before heading back to Victoria on Friday to play the Tri-City Americans in a weekend series.
For the holiday season, the highly anticipated Teddy Bear Toss presented by Realtor Charlsey Macgregor returns this Friday. The Teddy Bear Toss is a player and fan favourite where fans can throw a stuffed animal onto the ice when the first Royals goal is scored. As per league regulations, fans are asked to bag all teddy bears before they throw them on to the ice. There will also be teddy bears on sale for $5 in the concourse with proceeds going towards the BC Children's Hospital.
Friday night is also the Royals 'kids takeover' which means you can expect to see younger Royals fans riding the Zamboni, announcing the starting lineup and displaying their special graphics on the jumbotron. Also attending on Friday night is special guest Marty Clause, who will be in Santa's sleigh handing out gifts and taking photos.
Then on Saturday, the Royals are having their Christmas Classic to celebrate the upcoming holiday season. The team is asking fans to bring non-perishable food items to the rink for the 'Rise Together Food Drive' with all items donated to the 'Victoria Rainbow Kitchen Society". Fans are encouraged to wear their ugliest Christmas sweater so they can take a picture with Mary Clause in their best Christmas gear.
For tickets to either home game, visit the Victoria Royals ticketing page or call the Select Your Ticket box office at 250-220-7777.
The Royals are also offering two holiday ticket packages for fans this season. Buy four vouchers for $70 or six for $100 and receive a special Royals gift. This offer is valid until December 31, 2021.
