
Royals Loan Forward Chris Blight to Portland

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that forward Chris Blight has been loaned to the Portland Pirates of the AHL. In other transactions completed today, (i) defenseman Jared Ross has been loaned to the Peoria Rivermen of the AHL; and (ii) defenseman Louis Liotti has been returned to Reading from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL. In a transaction completed yesterday, forward Andrew Sarauer was loaned to the Hershey Bears of the AHL.
This is the Blight's fifth trip to the AHL this season. A sixth year pro from Cambridge, Ontario, Blight has scored a goal and picked up six assists (seven points) in nineteen AHL games with Bridgeport, Hershey and the Worcester Sharks. In thirty-three games with Reading, Blight has forty points (15g-25a) and thirty-six penalty minutes. This is the second trip to Peoria this season for Ross, a second year pro from Stoney Island, Nova Scotia. He played one game for the Rivermen without registering any points or penalty minutes in early February. Liotti, a second year pro from Westbury, New York, was loaned to the Sound Tigers on March 6 and played in Bridgeport's 6-0 loss to the Providence Bruins that day. Liotti has played a total of four AHL games with Bridgeport and the Lake Erie Monsters this year without registering any points or penalty minutes. Liotti has thirteen assists and twenty-two penalty minutes in fifty-three games with Reading this year. This is the second trip of the season to the AHL for Sarauer, a third year pro from Outlook, Saskatchewan. He played one game for the Rockford IceHogs on March 4 without registering any points or penalty minutes. In forty-eight games with the Royals, Sarauer has forty-five points (16g-29a) and thirty-six penalty minutes.
The Royals return to action on Wednesday (March 9 @ 7:05 pm) when the team will face the Trenton Devils at the Sovereign Center. It's a Berk's Packing Dollar Day with $1.00 hot dogs, nachos, popcorn and sodas. It's also a Wet Wednesday with $2.00 select draft beer.
