Gladiators goaltender Chris Carrozzi has been named the ECHL Goaltender of the Week for the week of February 28th through March 6th. He is the second Gladiators netminder to earn the award this season joining Billy Sauer who was named the Goalie of the Week for the Week of November 22nd through November 28th.

He made 27 saves in a 3-0 win over Trenton on Saturday night for his second shutout of the season after he was re-assigned earlier in the day to the Gladiators from AHL Chicago. He followed that up with a 34 save performance on Sunday in a 4-3 win over the Devils.

A rookie out of Mississauga of the Ontario Hockey League, he was drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in the sixth round of the 2008 NHL Draft with the 154th overall pick. Carrozzi appeared in 156 Ontario Hockey League games with Toronto and Mississauga from 2006-2010 posting a record of 77-49-12 with 11 shutouts, a 2.92 goals-against average and a save percentage of .908.

Carrozzi has earned a 15-13-1-4 record with Gwinnett this season. He has posted a 3.13 goals against average and a .899 save percentage in 37 games this season in the ECHL. He has also appeared in one AHL game with Chicago this season.
