HOME: 11-11 (35-37 in '05) AWAY: 7-12 (37-35 in '05) vs. Sacramento: 1-2 (2-2 in '05)

TODAY: The Royals visit Sacramento for the final game of a 4-game series at Raley Field. The River Cats lead the series 2-1. Air-time is 2:45 p.m. on Magic 1490 and at www.Oroyals.com.

LAST NIGHT: Bobby Keppel and Ryan Baerlocher pitched the Royals to a 2-1 victory, halting Omaha's 3-game losing streak and 7-game road losing skid. Keppel (3-4) allowed 1 run on 5 hits over 7.0 innings to get the win and Baerlocher finished with 2.0 scoreless frames, striking out 4 River Cats, to notch his 1st save. Down 1-0 in the 4th, Mark Teahen deliver a 2-run double that wound up being the game-deciding hit. Teahen went 3-for-4 on the night. Sacramento starter Victor Moreno (1-1) took the loss, allowing 2 runs in 5.0 innings.

ROYALS REPORT: Keppel snapped a personal 3-game losing streak with last night's gem. He had gone 0-3 with a 7.89 ERA over his last 4 starts. *** The save for Baerlocher was just the 2nd of his professional career; the 1st came in 2004 for Wichita. In his last 3 relief appearances, Baerlocher has picked up 2 wins and a save, posting a 2.84 ERA in the process. *** Teahen, who had 2 hits in his 1st 23 at-bats with Omaha, is now riding a 5-game hitting streak. He's hitting .625 (10-16) during the streak, banging out 3 doubles and a triple and driving in 6 runs. *** Chad Allen had 2 more hits last night and is on a 6-game hit streak. He's 11-for-25 (.440) with 2 RBI and 4 runs scored over that stretch, which has raised his average from .294 to .317. Allen is tied for 2nd in the PCL with 51 hits, trailing Sacramento's Doug Clark, who has 56. *** Paul Phillips went 1-for-3 and scored a run last night. The Royals catcher has hit in 5 straight games, 1 game shy of his longest streak of the season. Phillips is hitting .350 (7-20) with 3 RBI and 5 runs scored during the streak. *** Following last night's win, the Royals are 4-5 in 1-run games this season. Omaha is 12-0 when leading after 7 innings and 14-0 when leading after 8. *** Omaha's win and a 7-6 Iowa loss at Fresno last night moved the Royals a half-game ahead of the Cubs for 2nd place in the PCL's American Conference North. *** Last night's contest was a sellout, drawing 14,414 fans to Raley Field. The River Cats pace the PCL in attendance, averaging 9,632 fans at the ballpark which opened in 2000.

STARTERS: LH Eddie Yarnall (1-0, 2.93) vs. RH Shane Komine (1-4, 5.09)
