Former Blades: In tonight's game against the Blades, Royals' forwards Tyler Lees and Logan Doust faced off against their former team. Lees played in 39 games with the Blades while Doust dressed in three contests.
Ex Royal: In tonight's game, Blades' forward Eric Florchuk, who was traded to Saskatoon last January in exchange for two first-round draft picks, made his return to Victoria to face his former team. Florchuk spent parts of two campaigns with the Royals, from 2016-2018, where he collected 37 points (10g-27a) in 94 games.
Past Teammates: In the 2015-16 season, Royals' forward Tarun Fizer along with Blades' defenceman Majid Kaddoura and forward Kyle Crnkovic were teammates while playing for the Rocky Mountain Raiders Bantam AAA team of the Alberta Minor Bantam Hockey League (AMBHL). All three players are from Chestermere, AB.
New Team: Tonight, Blades' defenceman Nolan Kneen, a product of Duncan, BC, suited up in his second contest with his new club. Kneen was acquired by Saskatoon on November 26th from the Kamloops Blazers.
Coming up: Victoria hits the road this weekend to start a five-game road trip with a contest versus the Prince George Cougars. After a back-to-back against the Cougars on Saturday and Sunday, the Royals will travel to Kamloops, Kelowna, and Vancouver, respectively.
