
Winterhawks Teddy Bear Toss & Hawks Fight Hunger this Weekend

The Portland Winterhawks host two of the season's biggest promotional nights this weekend at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum: the Les Schwab Teddy Bear Toss on Saturday, December 1st and Fred Meyer Hawks Fight Hunger the following Day on Sunday, December 2nd.
Details on each event are below:
Saturday, December 1: Les Schwab Teddy Bear Toss, 6 p.m. in the VMC
Limited tickets remain for one of the most popular promotions of the year, Saturday's Les Schwab Teddy Bear Toss game. Fans bring teddy bears and other stuffed animals to the game and throw them onto the ice when the Winterhawks score their first goal. Players will then deliver teddy bears while on visits at local children's charities, hospitals, and schools. The remaining bears will be given away to local charitable organizations just in time for the holidays.

Sunday, December 2: Fred Meyer Hawks Fight Hunger, 5 p.m. in the Moda Center
The Winterhawks Booster Club will be accepting food donations at the north and south entrance to the Moda Center from doors until the end of the first intermission. The Oregon Food Bank will be graciously accepting monetary donations (cash & card access) inside at entry A-21 during the game
List of foods the food bank is hoping to receive:
- Peanut butter and almond butter (low or no sugar)
- Rice
- Tuna
- Beans (canned or dried)
- Pasta
- Shelf-stable milk
- Cooking oil
- Canned tomatoes
- Other nutritious foods (preferably healthy, whole grain, low-fat, low-sodium and low-sugar products)
In addition, for every game ticket purchased using the special code ZEROHUNGER, $5 will be donated to the Oregon Food Bank.
