Winterhawks Announce Two Roster Moves

Portland, Ore. - The Portland Winterhawks Hockey Club has announced the reassignment of forwards Cash Brebant and Caden Leibel ahead of the 2026-27 season opener.

Brebant, a native of Fort McMurray, Alberta, was drafted by the Winterhawks in the 5th round of the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft. The 17-year-old will play with the Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the AJHL, where he also played in 2025-26.

Leibel, from Surrey, British Columbia, was selected by the Winterhawks in the 4th round of the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft. He will be assigned to a team shortly. The 2009-born skater last played with the Delta Hockey Academy U18 Prep squad.

The Winterhawks roster now stands at 15 forwards, 8 defensemen, and two goaltenders, with some players still attending NHL camps.
