Defenseman Micah Socha Signed

KENT, Wash. - The Seattle Thunderbirds have signed Micah Socha to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement. Socha recently attended his first training camp with the T-Birds and played in the rookie preseason game last weekend versus Everett, earning two assists.
The Thunderbirds listed the New Hall, California resident this past spring. The 2010 born defenseman played last season with the Buffalo Jr. Sabres 15U AAA team, recording fourteen points (8g,6a) in twenty games.
"Micah was impressive right from the first session of camp," stated assistant general manager Craig Goebel. "His skating and offensive ability really stood out. We feel he has the tools to be an impact defenseman in this league."
The Thunderbirds are preparing for their fiftieth season in the WHL. The season opens September 19th at Wenatchee. The home opener is September 26th versus the Prince George Cougars.
