February 8, 2016 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Victoria Royals News Release
Victoria, BC - The Victoria Royals rallied in the third period to take down the Everett Silvertips 6-4, and were paced by Jack Walker who registered a hat-trick in the matinee showdown on Monday at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.
With the victory, the Royals extended their franchise record for most consecutive wins at nine.
The Royals' Walker saved his best for last as he recorded Victoria's tying, game-winning and insurance goals in the third period to record a natural hat-trick that helped the club overcome a 4-3 Silvertips' lead. Victoria's Tyler Soy scored two markers in the middle frame, and added an assist for a three-point night. The Royals' remaining tally was registered by Matthew Phillips to open the final stanza. The Silvertips' goals were recorded by Carson Stadnyk, Connor Dewar, Brycen Martin and Noah Juulsen.
Victoria goaltender Griffen Outhouse turned away 19 of the 23 shots he faced throughout the contest. Everett countered with Carter Hart who stopped 26 of the 32 pucks he faced.
On the powerplay, the Royals went 2/5=40.0%, while the Silvertips held a mark of 1/3=33.3% on the man-advantage.
The Royals will wrap-up their homestand tomorrow night against the Edmonton Oil Kings with puck drop scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Select Your Tickets Box Office, over the phone by calling 250-220-7889 or by visiting www.selectyourtickets.com.
