Edmonton, AB- The Victoria Royals' Matthew Phillips scored the overtime winner with five seconds remaining in the extra frame to down the Edmonton Oil Kings 3-2 on Wednesday night at Rogers Place.

One of Canada's Best - The Victoria Royals were ranked fifth on the Canadian Hockey League's Top 10 list earlier today. This also marks the third time this season that the Royals have been ranked on the CHL's Top 10 list.
Super Soy - Victoria veteran Tyler Soy (119g-129a) is one point away from breaking the Royals mark for the most career points at 248. Victoria alum Jack Walker holds the current Victoria record with 101 goals and 147 assists. Soy is 17 points away from passing former Chilliwack Bruin and Royal Brandon Magee (264) for most points in franchise history.
On Fire - With a goal and an assist tonight, Phillips extended his point streak to 11 games as he has registered 26 points (10g-16a) so far this season. The Calgary Flames' draft pick sits tied for first in the WHL in scoring along with the Brandon Wheat Kings' Ty Lewis.
Century Club - Royals' netminder Griffen Outhouse appeared in his 100th WHL contest tonight. The Likely, BC native has posted a record 60-28-7-2, a 0.922 save percentage and 2.57 goals against average over the course of his career.
Extra Time - Tonight's contest marks the Royals' first overtime win of the season. Victoria has taken part in two contests that required an extra frame this season.
