The Tri-City Americans defeated the Kelowna Rockets 2-1 on Tuesday night at the Toyota Center in Kennewick, WA.

Tri-City forward Nolan Yaremko(1) opened the scoring 10:24 in to the opening frame. The Americans held a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

There was no score in the second and the Americans took a 1-0 lead into the third period.

With 7:36 remaining in the third Yaremko scored his second of the night to give the Americans a 2-0 lead. With just over 1:30 to go in the period, Dillon Dube capitalized on a Rockets power play to draw Kelowna within one. The Rockets made a late push but Americans goaltender Beck Warm held on for a 2-1 Tri-City final.

James Porter's record falls to 1-1-1-0 on the season after stopping 22 of 24 shots he faced.

Kelowna's record drops to 4-4-1-1.

The Rockets are back home on Friday night when they take on the Portland Winterhawks at Prospera Place for the first of two between the rival clubs this weekend. Saturday is Paint the Rink Pink night when the Rockets take on the Winterhawks for the second time in as many nights. Stay tuned to kelownarockets.com for more info on Saturday evening.
