Royals' Alex Forsberg Named CHL Player of the Week

Victoria, BC- The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Victoria Royals' forward Alex Forsberg has been named the CHL Player of the Week.

Forsberg, a native of Waldheim, SK recorded seven points (2g-5a) in the Royals two game sweep of the Portland Winterhawks this past weekend.

The 1995-born veteran becomes the third player (Brandon Magee - 2014-15, Alex Gogolev - 2012-2013) in Victoria Royals' team history to receive the CHL Player of the Week award. The WHL also announced Forsberg as the WHL Player of the Week yesterday.

The 5-11, 192 lb Forsberg is tied for the WHL lead in scoring with seven points (2g-5a) and also leads the league in assists.

Forsberg is in his final season in the WHL and has notched 32 points (15g-17a) in 32 career games with the Royals.
