
Broncos Hold Annual General Meeting

The Swift Current Broncos hosted their Annual General Meeting at the Curling Rink Lounge of the Credit Union i-Plex Tuesday Night. Liam Choo-Foo, Chairman of the Swift Current Broncos Board of Directors announced a profit of $133,465 for the 2014-15 season.
"We're happy with that number, but can't be complacent" said Broncos Assistant General Manager and Director of Business Operations, Dianne Sletten.
"We need to continue to work hard to fill seats for home games" added Sletten.
Highlights of the AGM included:
Business Operations
The cash on hand improved by approximately $122,775. This has been brought on by a slight increase in season ticket revenue, successful fundraising events, and corporate sponsorship.
The Swift Current Broncos announced a profit of $133,465 due largely from the decrease in the education fund liability.
In 2014/15 two major changes and expenses occurred for the office. We introduced a new jersey and logo, bringing back the horseshoe logo and blue and white jerseys. We also invested in and implemented a new customized and integrated accounting system, POS system in the Stable, season ticket holder database and corporate advertising management system.
Swift Current Broncos staff and players contributed 614 hours to Swift Current and surrounding communities last year and donated $5524 worth of merchandise and tickets to various community fundraising events.
Hockey Operations
The regular season record was 34-33-1-4. For the 3rd year in a row the team finished with a record above 500
The team made the playoffs seeded third in the east division. We lost to second place Regina in 4 games.
Jake Debrusk led the team in scoring (42 goals, 39 assists, 81 points)
Max Lajoie led the team in Rookie scoring (7 goals, 34 assists, 41 points)
Jake Debrusk was sixth in the WHL in goals with 42. Colby Cave was 15th with 35.
Max Lajoie was 10th in rookie scoring with 41 points. That was 2nd best in the league for rookie defensemen.
Dillon Heatherington played for Team Canada at World Juniors. For the 2nd year in a row someone from our team won a gold medal at World Juniors.
Board Highlights
Two new board members Shane Lacasse and Jeff Kirwan.
