Royals Activate Defenseman Joey Ryan

Reading Royals News Release


Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that defenseman Joey Ryan has been activated from the 3-Day Injured Reserve. In a separate transaction, the Royals placed defenseman Scott Langdon on the 3-Day Injured Reserve. The ECHL also announced today that Royals' forward Olivier Labelle has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game No. 106 at Johnstown on November 11, 2009. Labelle was assessed a major penalty and a game misconduct for checking from behind at 15:49 of the third period. Labelle is automatically suspended for one game and fined under Rule #44.5-Checking from Behind. Labelle will miss Reading's game tonight against the Trenton Devils.

The Royals return to the Sovereign Center tonight (Friday, November 13, 2009 @ 7:05 pm) to face the Trenton Devils for the first time this year. The first 1500 fans on Friday night will receive a special "Friday the 13th" commemorative pin courtesy of Classic Harley-Davidson.
