Rox's Six Game Winning Streak Snapped as Gregory Strikes out Eight

St. Cloud, Minn. - The St. Cloud Rox's six game winning streak came to an end Tuesday night as they fell to the Alexandria Blue Anchors 1-0 in front of a crowd of 1,518 at the Rock Pile.

Reese Gregory (St. Cloud State) started on the mound for the Rox and pitched seven innings, striking out eight batters, scattering four hits and only gave up one run early in the second inning.

Erik Martinez (Cal-Berkley) came into the game in the eighth inning. He did not allow a hit and struck out one batter.

Austin Athmann (University of Minnesota), John Sansone (Florida State University) and Webb Bobo (Southeastern Louisiana University) had the three hits for the rocks.

Michael Strem (Boston College) got on base three times for the Rox, walked twice and reached on an error.

The Rox are now 6-1 in the second half and 25-16 overall.

The Rox will host the Blue Anchors again tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. The gates at the Rock Pile will open at 6:05 p.m. Tomorrow night former NFL Player and "Cold Cuts Legend" Ickey Woods will be signing autographs at the game and performing his famous "shuffle". Rox will wear special Ickey Woods jerseys presented by Bernick's.
