Rafters Top Woodchucks for 3rd Straight Win

Wausau, Wis- The Rafters offense has been a well-oiled machine the last three games as they poured it on in Wausau for an 11-2 win at Athletic Park. The offense was not the only story, as Jay Peters (UW-Milwaukee) struck out ten batters in six innings to pick up his first win of the summer. The Rafters started the first inning with a bang, scoring four runs in the top of the first inning. They plated one run in the second inning, another run in the fourth and then put the hame away for good with five runs in the seventh.

Jay Peters once again was outstanding in his six innings of work. The Rafters bullpen allowed one run in three innings of work, with Derek Kawlewski ( Rhode Island) striking out the last two batters he saw in the ninth inning to seal the win. Zack Domingues (Long Beach State) had a three hit ball game with a run scored and 1 RBI. Dustin Woodcock (SIU-Edwardsville) had a four hit game and 3 RBI's for Wisconsin Rapids. Jake Sandlin also added to his team leading 26 RBI's with 3 in the ball game tonight. It was another total team effort as the Rafters combined for 16 total hits on the night.

The Rafters return to Athletic Park again tomorrow, before heading to Michigan for a four game out of state trip. First pitch for today and tomorrow's game will be at 6:35 PM. The Rafters will not return to Witter Field until July 14th when they will face off against the Madison Mallards.
