St. Cloud Rox News Release
Rochester, MN--- Having split the doubleheader with the Rochester Honkers on Saturday, the Rox (29-18, 10-3) took the rubber match by a final score of 6-4 on Sunday afternoon.
St. Cloud started the game a little slow, as they trailed 4-0 heading into the visitor's half of the 5th. Lee Miller (Davidson) put the Rox on the board for the first time in the fifth, when he scored Brandon Benson (Georgia College) with an RBI groundout as the Rox cut the deficit to 4-1.
It remained 4-1 into the sixth, when Benson tripled with one out to score Kyle Serrano (Colorado Mesa). Benson would later come around to score in the inning to cut the Honkers lead to just one.
Connor Crane (Mcneese St.) added a 3-run blast in the 7th inning, his 3rd of the season, to give the Rox the lead for good.
Trevor Charpie (Saddleback CC) worked the final 3 innings to earn the save for the Rox, as they hung on to a 6-4 lead and took the series two games to one in Rochester.
