Green Bay Rockers News Release

Kenosha, WI.- Once again, Garrett Harrison (LHP/St. Cloud State) worked a magnificent start totaling 6 2/3IP/1ER(1R)/4H/4K-4BB. Matt De La Rosa (Lenoir-Rhyne) brought the pop going 1-for-3 with a 2-run HR and 3RBI. And the Bullfrogs (30-17/8-4) took down the Kingfish (33-16/10-3) by a score of 7-1.

Harrison was locked in a pitcher's duel through three innings with Kenosha's P.J. Schuster Jr. (RHP/SIU-Edwardsville) until the Bullfrogs cracked the seal open with a run in the fourth inning.

After Robb Paller (Columbia) hit an infield single, he stole second, took third on a wild pitch, and was plated after a hard bunt by Brian Celsi (California was mishandled by Mitch Gasbarro (Eastern Illinois) at second. Green Bay went up 1-0.

With the game still just 1-0 in favor the Bullfrogs, Green Bay put up a decisive seventh inning at the plate with five runs, 10 batters rolled through, on four walks, two hits, and an error.

Mikey Duarte (UC-Irvine) started off the seventh with a double to deep left field, followed up by two-run round-tripper from De La Rosa (2HR) to the parking lot beyond right field, and Schuster was pulled out of the game one batter later.

Kingfish pitcher J.R. Holloway (RHP/San Jacinto C.C.) entered and could not find the strike zone. He issued three walks, an RBI groundout, as another run scored on an error, as well as a 2-5 fielder's choice. Holloway was removed after just facing just five batters for Garrett Mackenzie (RHP/St. Mary's) who finally pulled the Kingfish out of the long inning.

Green Bay led 6-0 to start the home half of the seventh, and with Garrett Harrison under 90 pitches he stayed on to pitch. Harrison gave up two hits to lead off the frame, but was battled through two outs thereafter to just let one run score via Alex Borglin's (Central Michigan) sacrifice fly.

Harrison's scoreless innings streak spanning four appearances ended at 26 2/3 IP,  The lone Kenosha run in the seventh against Harrison was the first he had yielded since June 9th.

Harrison has won his last four starts. He has never allowed more than five hits, one run, and has had at least two strikeouts in each start during the winning stretch. His 1.14 ERA is second in the Northwoods League.

At the plate, Matt De La Rosa now holds a three-game hit streak (4-for-11, 2R, 3RBI) and the Bullfrogs' Logan Taylor (Louisville) and Robb Paller (Columbia) each had a hit and run scored in this game against Kenosha. Taylor has a team-high with 11 consecutive games with a base hit or more.

Green Bay sits 1.5 games behind Kenosha in the second half standings for first place in the South Division.

With a day of rest tomorrow, the Bullfrogs get back to work on Tuesday, July 14th with a 6:35PM start to play the first of four games in Minnesota against the Duluth Huskies at Wade Stadium.
